Mars Lander is a 5 level game with three levels of difficulty. NASA has picked you to make sure their expensive piece of equipment lands in the right place, and in one piece. Finish all five levels at one difficulty setting? It starts you over again at the next one. Beat level 5 at "Hard", and you may be ready to apply for a position. Donations appreciated as your level of interest will tell me if it's worth building version 2 of the game (20 levels, some using a parachute entry and all subject to things like wind).
Try a real 3D version
Mars Lander is clearly just a copy of the Lunar Lander application that comes with the Android SDK. Mars Lander have just changed at few images.
The fact that it is a modified copy does not make the game less facinating.
Try "Lunar Lander 3D" (found on SlideMe) if you want a 3D version of the game, where you should hit the landing spot in both the X- and Z-dimension. It comes with real OpenGL rendered 3D graphics.
