Dobutsu is the japanese chess initiation game, also known as "catch the lion".
Pieces are moving one square in the direction of the small points. Eaten pièces can be brought back to the game. The chick becomes a hen when reaching the other side. You win by either checkmating the other lion or taking your lion to the other side.
