Walter Scott's novel Rob Roy follows a young Englishman, Frank Osbaldistone, to Scotland, where he travels to retrieve a debt. The story is set during the 1715 Jacobite Rising, and Frank becomes embroiled in Jacobite politics when he falls in love.
