File Expert review by xcxin

One of the most important features that File Expert offers maybe is the WIFI file sharing support. You can use this software to share your files, video, pictures and many more to any device that connected to your local WIFI network. You can transfer files between them, preview some of media files stored on the network. To do all above you DO NOT need a USB cable!

This tutorial will teach you how to do this, I think the best way to read this post is to just follow this steps and start to share immediately, okay, here we go….

Step 1. Two Sharing Modes – Choose the right one that works for you

There’re two different share modes that File Expert offers. They can be used to meet for different requirements.

The first one is HTTP Web sharing mode. While working in this mode, your phone is just a full-function high performance Web Server, it means you can use any of browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or other browser software that you like, to access your phone. This sharing mode is mostly used to preview media files which stored on your phone. Many of computer players and browsers support directly play videos and musics in HTTP stream. So if you want to play MP3s that originally stored on your phone, and you don’t want to copy them to your computer in order to save place, Don’t forget to use File Expert’s HTTP Web sharing support.

The second sharing mode that File Expert offers is FTP sharing, while working on this mode, your phone is a full-featured multi-threaded FTP Server. This sharing mode often used to transfer files between devices. The FTP protocol, or file transfer protocol, is designed to transfer files in high speed with additional security features. In this mode we can upload/download files to/from our phones, also could create/remove/rename files that stored in phone’s memory & SD card. If you’re using Microsoft Windows, it means you can operate your phone in its Windows Explorer – just looks like you’re now working in your local computer folders.

Okay, that’s all the sharing mode, so which one is your best love? Don’t forget that File Expert could start both of them in the same time.

Step 2. Two Touch Start

Now we’re going to start sharing. In fact, start sharing in File Expert is extremely easy, all you need is to find what folder you would like to share with others, and simply long touch on that folder, wait until the pop-up menu to show up.

Ok, now choose Network Share – that will lead you to another menu.

Here File Expert gives us two options. Do you still remember we just mentioned there’re two sharing mode that File Expert offers. Yes, they’re here

Ok, now touch what you want – HaHa – You have already start sharing ! Very easy, isn’t?

Step 3. Access sharing resources from your computer or other devices

Next we need to access the resources we just shared.

a) For HTTP Web Sharing

I suppose you already knows how to open a website. To access the Web sharing resource is just completely same as access a normal website.

For example, if your phone’s IP address is 192.168.0.1, File Expert will tell you its IP address when you start sharing – Here is the website address for this case: http://192.168.0.1:8080/ Don’t forget to replace the IP with the right one.

b) For FTP Sharing

File Expert will set a username and password automatically. This is a security concern and cannot be disabled. The default user name is “fe” and password is “filexpert“. Current version of File Expert cannot change this but the next release will allow you to change this.

Suppose your phone’s IP is 192.168.0.1, copy this address to your Windows Explorer address bar and press Enter:

ftp://fe:filexpert@192.168.0.1:2211/

Okay, you should see your sharing files now!
