Hi, while looking at an email, I see the icons for forwarding, replying, deleting. If I want to look at the next email, is there a way to go through them without having to close the previous email first?
Thank you very much.
Only in the pro version.
Is spell checker included in MailDroid Pro. It shows spell checker in the features list but I can't find it. When composing a message I see the ABC check mark button/icon but I don't know how to use the button. When I type a message and type a mis spelled word the word automatically corrects itself. Is this the spell checker working.
The speller is in free and pro. What you have is autosuggest built into Android ... the spell check is different.
When I am typing in the Pro version and a enter a mispelled word how does the spell check work. Do I have to do something to make it check the word?
omawb replied to my spell check question but I can't find his comment. Can someone please tell me where it is?
1. I am trying to use maildrod to read an IMAP account that I also use Outlook 2007 to read on my home commputer. The problem is I can see all the messages marked for deletion in every folder on my phone. There does not seem to be a way to filter them out, as there is with outlook.
2. Is there a way filter out or suppress messages based on subject (similar to rules in outlook)?
3. Is it possible to move messages to a folder, either on IMAP or Exchange?
1. There is a filter option in the menu
2. Use the filter option :-)
3. Yes to both
I'm using the latest rev of MailDroid with POP on gmail, but as soon as I have looked at a mail it disappears from view. I can't see how to look at "read" mails -- they simply aren't listed anywhere.
I'm blind, I guess -- but I don't see the option or the folder where they should show up. When I push the "load older messages" button in the inbox, nothing shows up.
In the area of blindness -- I've not been able to find a user manual. Is there one?
Thanks in advance for any pointers you can provide.
Because I read this mail account from several clients, and one of them can't deal with IMAP...I have to use POP on all my clients.
So back to my question: how do I view the emails I've just read?
I can't see how to get to them to re-read or even explicitly delete them in MailDroid.
Let me start by asking a question. Why are you using POP on gmail? Any reason? Gmail supports IMAP which is much more suited for a mobile device.
Pictures sent from another sprint user to my pop account are not showing. Is there a setting I am overlooking?
Embedded email or attachment?
Click menu --> show images or set show images globally
How do I update the purchased version? I am on 1.82 and I see 1.83 is out.
1.83 was not released to the market. 1.85 will be released in a day or two.
So I would just re-download it when it is released? I don't see an update within MailDroid.
Just downloaded your app Maildroid and it looks great! Can you set it up so it polls every minute or 5 minutes?
It's easy. Just go to menu, then "more," then "account preferences," then scroll to the bottom to "Connection Management" where you can choose to stay connected (which I assume is push), or to "Close connection when I exit". Choose the latter, and then you can specify an interval in minutes to poll, or alternatively to have no polling at all.
Thank you so much, I missed that! :)
Each time I want to open a mail, i get the error message "java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException"
I have MailDroid Pro v1.82.
This is usually an internal error, please contact me via email.
I have been evaluating Maildroid for the last 48 hours and I am receiving numerous errors quite regularily.
One error is Bodystructure and several others that I cannot remember. Each time I received an error I have submitted reports. Is this normal? Is it something on my end?
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Fix for identity issue where emails get stuck in outbox
I cannot create an account for m.hotmail.com due to the port field needing a value to continue the verification process.
Usually you have the following values needed for this exchange server:
It doesn't indicate a specific port.
I don't support ActiveSync for Hotmail...only POP3
Since 1.81 I'm not able to connect to my company Exchange 2007 server using server address owa.mycompany.com as it was working 1.79 and previous release.
The only way I found to be able to connect is to use the full redirect url
I can connect but I cannot get any message
CookieAuth.dll means you used ISA server, I never supported that in previous versions, how were you able to connect? Please email me.
No, not at this time.
Any idea when you might get to this issue when we have a gmail account hosting a non-gmail address?
Keep up the good work.
Has a number of exchange fixes.
Just downloaded the update and was excited to see that you are now supporting Exchange 2003!
After trying various settings and retyping my password a few times, I finally hit upon the combo that SEEMED to work (previous ones kept saying "invalid" to credentials). I had to use my user name WITH the domain-"name/domain".
However, I still get a message popup:
WebDav path: VALID
The one thing I noticed is that I've used other apps and could simply use our mail server's address as we do on Exchange Web (sub.domain.com) - but this time I had to use the virtual (or sub) directory it is pointed to (sub.domain.com/directory). Could this present an issue? Could it have something to do with the way I entered my username?
I'll continue fiddling (as I've really been waiting and excited for this 2003 support! can't WAIT to ditch my other app!) ... let me know what you think. If I come up with anything, I'll let you know.
Instead of (sub.domain.com/directory) just use (sub.domain.com) I had the same issue and was able to fix it.
I was using https://xxwebmail.xxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/owa and kept getting the error. when i deleted the /owa it synced up in seconds and was able to access my exchange account.
Hope it helps!
please email me to discuss further.
I have exactly the same problem as Wrae using exchange 2007.
I had to use the virtual (or sub) directory in the exchange server address instead of what it says "invalid" to credentials.
changing domain\name or name@domain does not change anyhting. Everything was working fine with 1.79
try just your username
WebDav path: VALID
I went back to versoin 1.79 to be able to connect. Is there a way to have a detailed log of the connection issue with 1.81 ?

Nice app, new user v1.79 with above error on some emails and when doing Pre-load and Index on my imap account. MD prompted to send you the error message, you probably have at least two from me.
This is an error coming from the mail server, email me if you want more details or need an explanation on what is wrong with the server.
Is there a way to add a file from SD card as an attachment? Clicking on "Attach File" opens a popup "Select attachment" with options Gallery, Select music track, Sound Recorder. I just want to attach a PDF document. Is there a way to do this?
I am running MailDroid 1.79 on Android 2.2 on LG Ally. Thanks, Zoran
It seems to refer you only to existing apps, not to files, so you need an app that will handle those files. Just about any app that handles the files you want will probably work. If you click on Quick Office (assuming you have that, and I think it comes with most Android phones) you can then pick the part that handles what you want to attach (like pdf reader if you want pdf's) and then it will take you to the directories where you can find the document.
I more often use a file manager. You can download free ones in the market. I have OI File manager. It will navigate all the files you have and allow you to attach just about any of them.
I support 3 file managers to download to your SD:
OI File Manager
ES File Explorer (my suggestion is this one)
If you use Astro, I only support attaching, but not downloading (limitation of astro).
Thanks. Installing ES Explorer fixed the problem, and I can now attach random files. I already had Explorer and ThinkOffice pre-installed on the phone, but those do not show up in the menu.
Do you know if it is possible to attach multiple files in one shot by multi-selecting them?
Right now, I have to navigate to the same directory for each file I want to attach.
I gave the ability to download multiple files, but not upload as you see. It is on my list to give this feature soon :-)
